At Emma Parker & Co., all of our rings are custom-produced from scratch to fulfill your order. We will never take a ring from inventory and resize it to match your finger size and the dimensions of the center stone you have chosen. (Even though this is a practice used by nearly every other jewelry outlet.)

This policy offers several advantages for our customers.

1. Custom-produced rings are actually less expensive than stock settings, because resizing a stock setting to suit your finger and center stone size is a time-consuming process.
2. We can help you find the ring that's best for you, rather than sell you a ring we want to get rid of. Jewelers who carry large stocks of rings need to get a return on their investment, so it's in their best interests to sell you a ring they have already purchased. We're not bound in this way, so we can focus on identifying which ring is best for your particular needs, and are not influenced by any inventory considerations.
3. Custom-produced rings are more durable than resized stock rings. This is because resizing the ring to fit your finger and the stone you have chosen means moving everything around, which has a weakening effect on the structure of the ring. The more complex a ring is, the more this factor affects the security of your diamonds. (Imagine building the Brooklyn Bridge and then moving it 3 feet to the east! It's a comparatively small-scale change, but would have a huge structural impact.)
